I own a warm blood breeding farm in Arizona. Our main
focus is training and marketing of young dressage horses. I first
started using the Shield & Sheen® Stick when we were having
so many eye problems with horses out in the paddocks from the insects.
I found it worked wonders and actually worked for several days
in a row without reapplication after the first few consecutive
days of use.
At the time I was preparing two young horses for the USEF Young Horse Championships
in Kentucky. The young stallion seemed to be having some serious chapping
of the corners of the mouth where the bit was. We had tried numerous
other products trying to manage this chapping. I also spoke with several
veterinarians concerning this dilemma. At one stage we even took him
out of training for several days. But between the sweat and irritation
the chapping was still present. I then remembered the Shield & Sheen® and
its original function before use on horses. It not only healed the
chapping, it softened the corners of his mouth and we have had no further
concern with this problem.
The horses in training never leave the grooming stall without using Shield & Sheen® on the corners of their mouths. It has solved
a problem that plenty of riders seem to have with their horses.

I am familiar with the Shield & Sheen® ‘Stick’ and
the Spray in the treatment of fly problems in pruritic
horses. Therefore
I feel comfortable in stating:
‘I have found the MedZone Shield & Sheen stick and the
corresponding spray helpful in the treatment of fly-induced dermatitis
in horses’.

I wanted to write and tell how your product, Shield & Sheen, has helped our mare.
Reminic's Eve was once a Champion Reined Cow Horse, but now in her 20's, she is the horse my 11 year old son loves and trail rides every chance he gets. Last summer Eve had an unusual reaction to flies and other insects that were attacking her stomach; she lost all her hair and had open wounds extending from between her front legs to her hind legs. My son couldn't ride her because it hurt her to have a cinch against her skin. She was so uncomfortable that she was constantly biting at her stomach and was loosing weight.
Our veterinarian's first treatment consisted of washing her belly every day and applying an antibiotic ointment. After several months we saw little improvement. During the winter months her sores healed and she grew some, but not all, of her hair back. Then spring came and everything came back in full force. This time our vet tried a course of powdered steroids I would mix in her grain. She didn't like the taste, and after a week she stopped eating her grain, therefore, I had to give her liquid steroids. Again, we saw little improvement, not only with her skin, but she was continuing to drop weight. Our vet consulted with a dermatologist at U.C. Davis Veterinary Hospital and he recommended your product. With a week of using the spray application I noticed an improvement. Now Eve has minimal signs of her long term problem and has been regaining her weight. She looks great and you can tell she is no longer in pain. My son is riding her down the trail again, and I must say I am not missing my daily doctoring routine. Now I only have to spray her belly once a week!
I wanted you to know I think your product is fantastic. You have not only helped our wonderful, kind mare, you have taken away the agony my son and I have shared knowing the discomfort she was in, and the frustration of being unable to help her. I plan on telling all my fellow horse lovers about your product.

I would like to express my thanks to you for your wonderful line of products. After receiving your box of goodies, I went about setting up a program to treat our horses here at Atwood Ranch, those of which were infested with large amounts of ticks! I got out my note pads, made starting dates, observation dates, etc. in order to watch the progress and document the effects of your Shield and Sheen spray. I started with horse # 1 and targeted his worst areas. Well so much for my notes, dates, etc. I went out the very next day, and all I had to do was brush away all the dead ticks. That is how fast it worked! I could hardly believe it. I waited about 4 days, reapplied the Shield and Sheen, this time addressing the most venerable areas and a good over all application.. He no longer has ticks. So, now I know what to do about the ticks. This year has been the worst I have seen in a long time for ticks. I figure a good spray about every 4 to 6 days ought to keep these horses tick free.
I would also like to share with you the comfort I feel in using your product and the beauty of it being non toxic to both myself and the horse. In certain areas, I feel I get more coverage simply by spraying my hands with Shield and Sheen and rubbing into, and or, around the hard to spray areas with no fear at all! I have also noticed its absolute healing abilities. Several of the tick bites on some of the horses left welts and red sores around the bite area. Shield and Sheen not only gets rid of the tick but immediately begins to heal the affected area. I have backed up those spots with a hit of your Shield and Sheen Stick, and by the next day I can see the swelling has gone down and it is already beginning to heal.
I look forward to trying all of your products as they may be needed around here. I most definitely trust them. Enough, to give myself a spray before I take off on my horse into the woods! Dogs, cats, you name it!
As fly season comes, I will be anticipating equal results with your Shield and Sheen spray. I will keep you posted. Thank you so much, Tony, for creating a safe and effective product.
